What's Wrong With Being An Omega Nanny?-Chapter 86: His Condition!

Chapter 86

Chapter 86: His Condition!
Mrs Voss, who was supposed to go to an event, found somewhere to sit, thanks to her son. She rubbed her forehead, as she exhaled deeply. She was listening to Jace yell at Elias, saying it was his fault they got humiliated like that. But, to Elias, he did nothing wrong.
"Elias... Stop it already," She sighed.
"Mother..." He tried to speak but Elias interrupted him instead.
"You said I didn’t tell you I saved his son. How on earth am I supposed to know who he was? If you aren’t blind or deaf, you would have seen how I reacted when he introduced himself. I saved Nathan and took him to the hotel to get him treated. Then, he ran away. How should I know whose son he was?" Elias asked. Jace remained quiet. Now, he couldn’t speak.
Even Mrs Voss could understand what was going on. Elias had just saved the stranger and the stranger turned out to be the son of one of the most influential men in the country.
"I apologise on my son’s behalf, Elias. You can head back to your room," Mrs Voss said.
"It’s fine, ma’am," Elias said and glared at Jace one more time. "I’m disappointed in you, Jace. Maybe we aren’t friends,"
He said and left. Before Jace could stop him, he had already left.
"Shit!" He cursed, driving his fingers into his hair. "I don’t even want to be friends with him. I wanted something more,"
"Jace. It’s time to give up," Mrs Voss spoke as a smile crept on her face. "I guess this is what I get for being greedy. There’s no way we can keep someone like him,"
"But mother..." Jace tried to speak again but she stood up and turned to Ethan.
"Could you go to the event on my behalf?"
"Sure, mother," he answered. "Let me take you to your room,"
They walked up the stairs together. Jace stood there, clenching his fist as tight as he could.
’If you can’t fight with the Caldwell, I can. I won’t let Elias slip out of my fingers. The matching test isn’t the only way I can get him to be with me... Getting him pregnant is one of them,’
He thought to himself and looked upstairs as a cruel grin spread across his lips.
.
The next morning was Sunday. Elias left the house early with his sister before anyone woke up. They went to their old house to get some clothes for Lila. The bigger ones that could fit her and maybe give the rest to the orphanage home in the area.
"We have to buy new clothes for you," Elias said, staring at his phone.
"Do you have money for that?" Lila asked and Elias felt an arrow piercing his chest. It was the same as telling him he’s poor.
Well, Lila’s question made Elias realise that the ten thousand that he received would get exhausted soon.
He didn’t have enough left. He knew he had to search for a job. Maybe go back to his part-time jobs.
"Let’s walk to the boutique. Are you strong enough?" He asked Lila.
"Are you trying to save money, brother? We could have asked the grumpy old man to give us a car,"
"I can’t drive, Lila. Besides, stop calling him that. Call him Uncle Ethan,"
"No," she folded his hands and started walking down the street. Elias shook his head and walked behind his sister, holding her bag.
.
After a few hours of choosing some clothes for Lila. She was picky when it came to clothes. She had always been picky. She just didn’t want to choose clothes to make her look like a child. She picked clothes that made her look older.
Even if she was going to be eleven soon, she knew she was still a child. She turned her head to look at her brother who kept staring at his phone.
’Mom and Dad are gone, and my brother is the only one by my side. Even if he’s not my real brother, he’s doing everything for me. I can’t take much from him so he wouldn’t abandon me. I can’t rely on him too much so he won’t see me as a nuisance, that’s why I must be independent,’
She placed a hand on her chest and sniffed in.
"That’s why I must accept the scholarship Grumpy old man is giving to me, so Brother wouldn’t have to take care of my school fees," she said to herself, wiping the tears off her cheek.
She walked towards Elias showing off her clothes.
"Is this okay, brother?"
Elias rubbed his chin, tilting his head to the side.
"I guess so. It fits you well," he said.
"Ha! I’ll add this one too. That’s enough," she said, with a smile.
"You’re picking just eight of them? Is that enough?" He asked.
"It’s enough for me, Brother," she smiled at Elias.
Elias was already calculating how much he would spend on her dress but she didn’t even spend half of the amount he had budgeted for her.
"If you wish, you can take more," he said but she shook her head. "Fine, let’s check this out and eat something. I can hear your stomach grumbling,"
Lila nodded, and after a few minutes, they left the cheap boutique and went to a nearby cafe where they ordered something.
While they were waiting for their order, the door opened and the bell rang. A few people turned their heads, including Elias.
He furrowed his brows when he saw Luka walk in with a lady. He wore a cheap outfit. His old rings and necklace were gone.
It’s like he had become poor overnight.
They sat at the table close to the other window and Elias kept looking at them.
"Do you know him, brother?" Lila asked.
"Do you remember the twins?" Elias asked and Lila nodded.
"You mean, baby bears?"
"They have names, Lila. Anyway, that’s their uncle. His name is Luka," he said.
"Uncle? I thought their father was in the Mafia. Why is this one dressed like that?"
"Who knows?" Elias asked. The waiter finally brought their meal and Lila dug in without wasting time.
While they were eating, they heard a loud slap and everyone in the cafe turned their heads to Luka’s table. The lady hit Luka’s cheek.
"Why on earth would I marry someone like you?" She asked before running out. Luka watched her leave and stretched his hand. They hadn’t ordered anything.
Elias was sure Luka would leave soon, so he hid his face so Luka wouldn’t approach him. But, he felt someone push him just to sit close to him.
It was Luka.
"Hey, Elly!" Luka waved his hand.
Elias sighed deeply, staring at Luka.
"Did you really have to do that?" He asked Luka.
Luka shrugged. He took a fry from Elias’s tray.
"I don’t want an arranged marriage. Father never listened to me,"
"You just can’t stop sleeping around. It’s not your father’s fault," Elias said, beating Luka’s hands that tried to touch his fry again.
The hit didn’t stop him from reaching the fry. He looked forward at Lila who was glaring at him.
"Is she your sister? You two don’t look alike at all," he said.
"Shut up already," Elias frowned.
"My bad. The twins woke up this morning after a long sleep, and they asked about you again, crying their eyes out. Come back to work at the Drago house, I’ll pay you ten times your original pay," Luka said. Elias froze.
"A hundred thousand per month?" He asked.
"Huh? Your original pay is ten thousand? That cheap?" He asked and laughed. "Then, let’s double it. I’ll give you two hundred thousand. Just do it for my nephews. If you wish for Viktor to stay away from you, I’ll make it possible. I just can’t see the boys crying every day,"
Elias was silent. It also hurt him. The money was tempting. He has so many offers from left and right that he has no idea what to choose.
Caldwell? The Vosses? Or Luka?
He was confused. Even if his life was connected to them. The most important thing on his list is his heat. He wants to be free from it for three months.
"I’ll think about it," he said.
"Good. Don’t waste time thinking," he said and grabbed Elias’s phone from the table. He input his number and waved his hand at Lila.
"Call me," he said and left.
"That man is crazy, brother. Why would he pay two hundred thousand just to take care of those two baby bears,"
"They are rich, Lila," Elias told his sister.
"So will you do it?" She asked. Elias chewed slowly and his phone vibrated on the table.
He picked it and stared at the text from Dr Patel. Last night, after they left, Elias told him he would send him a message.
Now, he has gotten a response.
Dr Patel:
If that’s all, I’ll find information for you. It should be easy to find your parents’ killer since it happened three years ago.
Elias grinned.
"I wonder, Lila. Maybe, we should move into our own house,"
