Chapter 24: Chapter 23: Effect of Ryzel’s Smile
"It’s okay. As I said a while ago, I will wait for you. Even if I wait for a lifetime."
Hearing what Layton Lewis said, Ryzel can only nod because he doesn’t know how to respond to what Layton Lewis said.
Ryzel knew Layton Lewis was serious when he said them, but a part of him still couldn’t fully believe it.
He knew that he shouldn’t be doubtful, but his experience with Dwight left him unable to believe what Layton was saying.
As if he knew what he was thinking, Layton went on, "You might not believe me this time, but I can prove it to you for a lifetime."
Ryzel was thrown into pondering mode by Layton’s repeated words ’lifetime’, so he did not respond right away.
He was already married to Layton Lewis, so they indeed have a lifetime to be together.
He doesn’t have to think hard or disbelieve Layton Lewis.
He can simply go with the flow, as he is already linked to Layton Lewis for life.
He can simply go about his business as usual, keeping in mind that he has a husband.
If there comes a time when Layton Lewis betrays him in the future, he will leave it to his future self to solve the problem.
He was sure that his future self must be more capable than he is now, so he could leave the problems that may arise in the future to his future self.
Thinking of possible betrayal just because of what he encountered would just hinder his current lifestyle.
After having a realization, Ryzel finally answered.
"Okay," Ryzel nodded with an extremely beautiful smile on his face.
Ryzel finally noticed the effect of his smile on Layton Lewis, which he had previously overlooked.
Ryzel became more relaxed as he put down his guard against Layton Lewis.
So, looking at the dazed General, Ryzel laughed openly.
"Ha ha ha ha."
Ryzel cannot believe that the person who was always solemn on the news and a powerful general commanding thousands of soldiers would be put in a daze by his smile.
He was sure that if other people saw their mighty God of War in a daze, they would be shocked.
He stood up and approached General Layton.
"General Layton, are you back? I can’t believe my smile had this much power," Ryzel said while waving his hands in front of Layton Lewis.
Layton Lewis, who had been struck by a lovely smile followed by joyous laughter, finally snapped out of his daze.
Ryzel’s hand, which was waving in Layton’s face, was held and pulled.
Ryzel was pulled into Layton’s lap as a result of the abrupt pull, which he had no resistance against.
He attempted to stand up instantly, but Layton Lewis held him closer.
"You know your smile is already strong enough to put me in a daze, and you still laughed at me?" Layton Lewis said helplessly while looking at Ryzel, who was sitting on his lap.
"Well, I can’t help but laugh, thinking that other people would be so shocked to see you in a daze because of me," Ryzel remarked, still smiling slightly.
"You should smile more when you are with me so that I won’t be laughed at when you smile at me in the future in front of other people," Layton Lewis said while caressing Ryzel’s face with his thumb.
Ryzel didn’t mind Layton’s actions.
"But, General Layton, are you certain you’d be immune to my smiles?" Ryzel inquired, staring at Layton.
Lyre took six months just to get used to his smiles, while Dwight didn’t allow him to smile much because he couldn’t get used to it. So he isn’t sure if smiling more will help Layton Lewis get used to his smiling face.
"No, I would never be immune to your smiles, but at least I can react immediately," Layton readily admitted.
"Don’t worry, I will smile more for you," Ryzel agreed.
"Yes, remember, you should smile more for me. No need to smile too much for others," Layton replied, lifting Ryzel’s chin to face him directly.
"Of course, why should I be smiling at others?" Ryzel asked, perplexed by what Layton stated.
"That’s good.
Let’s go and get your things now so that you can rest. I know you’re very tired," Layton Lewis said while putting down Ryzel, who was on his lap.
"Okay, let’s go," Ryzel said while yawning.
He was indeed very tired, as it’s already 1:30 a.m.
They went to his apartment, which is located near the Capital Star Academy.
The things he needed to get in his apartment were his laboratory equipment, which he is using for his personal research, and all the things he needed for schoolwork.
He also needed to get his nanny robot, which had been taking care of him for several years.
As soon as they arrived, he immediately led Layton Lewis inside his apartment to get all his belongings.
Layton put all his things on his space bracelet.
"Did we get all the things you need? What about that box over there?" Layton pointed at a box beside the bed that Ryzel didn’t let him put into his space.
"Those are the things my ex-boyfriend gave me; I plan to send them to him because he spent money on those things," Ryzel said nonchalantly.
"Why don’t you simply throw them away? I heard he already has a match guide. It wouldn’t be good if you sent it back to him," Layton Lewis said in a serious tone.
"Now that you mention it, it seems that it won’t really be good if I send back the ones he gave me if his guide was there." He knew that if he sent them back, Sean could be annoyed to hell, but it would seem that he was still thinking of his scum ex-boyfriend if he sent them back.
"But he bought it with money." Ryzel hesitated a bit. He doesn’t want to owe anything to his scum ex-boyfriend; the gifts he provided were all pricey, and he didn’t have the money to repay them.
"You can just throw them away. Don’t worry, I can pay him back," Layton said.
"Okay, then let’s go. The cleaners would just throw them away after I leave."
