Chapter 33: Chapter 33- We win(2)
Dante looked at Thomas one last time and moved on to help Julius. His body was burning and at the same time he didn’t feel anything.
To be honest, he was not doing much against the giant knight. He woke up from sleep due to the throne being crushed by the knight’s sword.
Thankfully, Julius saved him from crushing.
He felt his body and noted. The lungs were healed, there was a bit of fluid left inside but he didn’t need to worry about that anymore. The bones were also starting to take shape.
He aimed at the mana bolt and fired at the knight’s eyes, blinding its view.
His hunter eyes showed that Thomas failed his attempt. He shook his head. Thomas’s mana manipulation was too crude.
He always neglected training his mana. That was why he was struggling like this despite being blessed by mana.
Dante tried to use
Zero-Point
skill against this giant knight but didn’t work. Well, it worked but the knight pushed his aura with dense mana.
He didn’t know how the knight found out about this skill but he suspected that the lich implanted something to it.
’Make sense since I can feel the lich awakening inside the knight.’
Dante closed his eyes and felt the mana he reaped from Thomas. He immediately used a few mana to his newly upgraded healing skill.
He then lifted up his hands and recalled the axes laying on the ground. He used Dash and continued helping Julius.
His position in this fight was a distraction. There was no need to damage the knight as his attacks were not strong enough to do that.
"Julius! Try not to use your space sword skill." He called out his blond friend.
"Why? This is the only thing I have."
"I want you to save your mana for the final attack. Use my axe and activate the third rune, try to make a large slash with this." Dante said.
Julius arrived beside him and looked at the axe on his hand. Dante gave it to Julius and said.
"Here. Get familiar with it first."
Julius grabbed the axe and swung around. He then nodded at Dante.
"Okay. I see. We are going to create a hole for Thomas right?" Julius said with enthusiasm.
Dante fired the mana bolt at the knight, calling its attention.
And he got it immediately as the knight gave him the sword.
Dante grabbed Julius and said. "Teleport."
There was no room for him to roll around as the sword was big enough to uplift the entire floor.
They arrived at the big debris that came from the wall. Dante let go of Julius and stood in a balance.
Dante’s eyes widened as he saw Thomas’s mana ball. He turned to Julius and said.
"Go to Thomas and pass on the plan. He is going to succeed in a few tries."
"Damn." Julius vanished.
Dante let out a sigh and jumped down from the debris. He used Dash again, closing the distance.
He compressed the mana bolt and channeled into the axe’s third rune. It glowed bright blue.
He struck at the toes of the knight, not getting much out from this attack other than ripping its toe.
He chuckled at this and was kicked away by the knight.
As he was flying away in the air, his hand immediately threw out the axe to the ceiling, sticking in it.
Then with the first rune, he pulled himself avoiding crushing into the wall again.
His face was messed up, his body supported by the constant application of mana. Dante felt his organs leaking with blood.
The only thing that worked well inside was his brain. He was thankful for that.
Dante pushed himself and fired a dozen mana bolts.
Julius arrived beside him and said, "Thomas is ready."
Dante was taken back by these words. He turned his eyes to Thomas and nodded.
The result was barely contained inside the palm but it was good enough to injure the knight.
He sensed something and looked at the knight. There was a barrier of sorts coming into life.
"Shit, Julius hurried and attacked the knight."
"On it."
Julius disappeared in front of him and arrived at the air, lunching toward the knight’s chest.
Dante immediately yelled out. "Come back!"
He saw the incomplete barrier forming into the attack similar to the one that gave Julius the hole in the shoulder.
Julius swiftly arrived beside him and let out a frustration kick.
"What do we do now?" Julius asked.
"First, take me to Thomas. Let’s group and think about our plan."
They arrived in a flash. Dante saw Thomas holding a white ball, as he got closer near him, he felt his blood dried.
"Don’t come close. The heat is strong enough to make my blood boil." Thomas said with a smile.
"Haha. I can feel it. The temperature is similar to that of the sun." Dante said.
Julius gave him a side eye and said, "You don’t know what the sun feels like."
"I am just making a comparison." Dante said.
"No. Dante is correct. It is similar to the sun I feel in my core forming. Although it is a lot weaker." Thomas said.
"So what is the plan, Dante?" Julius asked.
Dante turned around and saw the knight standing. He knew that it was using this time to get the function its barrier.
He turned back and immediately started working on his plan.
"The knight has two defenses. One is the outer defense strong enough to block everything. But my aura attack can easily rip open the barrier." Dante said.
He continued. "The second defense can be broken by you two. Especially this attack." He pointed at the white ball.
"But I don’t think throwing the ball outside could kill that thing. So the plan is.."
Dante gave his general plan. The plan carried a risk of dying. One wrong move and they all died.
He inhaled a breath and steady his pace. He rushed over to the knight and used Zero-Point skill.
He transformed every bit of his mana into purple aura, letting it enveloped his entire body.
As he got closer to the knight, his mana emptied. He stopped when he reached the barrier.
He stared at the knight and poured everything into his hand.
He then channeled the purple aura to the barrier, eating away the wall of will.
The knight moved and swung down the sword.
Dante smirked, not moving his body, his focus was destroying every piece of the barrier. And he was done.
Mana inside his core was none.
He couldn’t move his body anymore as the wounds were starting to stack up.
Before the sword reached him, Julius appeared in the air and swung the giant axe.
The axe cleaved off the longsword in half, saving Dante.
Dante smiled.
Julius was not done yet. He let goes of the axe and took out the next axe from his waist. He then activated all the rune inside the axe, making it similar to the previous one.
He then swung the axe with all his might.
The axe slashed across the chest’ armor.
Thomas yelled and fired the ball in his hand. The ball traveled fast and entered inside the knight.
"Cover up." Dante yelled, hugging his knees.
There was silence before the explosion.
The explosion ripped apart the knight armor and melted down. The heat emitted from the blast was strong enough to scrap off the skin from his back.
[You have slain Aldryx, The lich.]
[13000 points earned.]
[You have conquered the Lich’s dungeon.]
[Calculating the rewards.]
Dante smiled at the notification and let out a laugh. "We win."
