Chapter 34: Chapter 34 - Reward
They rested for a few hours, sleeping. Dante woke up and felt sore. He rubbed his legs and checked his body. There were a few wounds on his body.
During the sleep, his body subconsciously absorbed mana and healed. He closed his eyes and channeled mana toward his new healing skill.
He felt bones melded and fixed.
Dante stood up and gave a good stretch. He wanted to sleep but getting out of this dungeon took top priority.
Dante looked around the room. There were numerous rumbles inside. He saw Thomas laying in the ground, snoring out loud.
Julius was resting on the wall, meditating his mind.
He ignored and turned his eyes on the strange portal placed in the middle of the room.
Dante slowly walked toward the portal and stopped.
A notification rang.
He checked the system and read it.
[Time - 02:56 left before the dungeon collapsed.]
Dante nodded and smiled. He couldn’t believe he finished this dungeon. To him, he stayed inside this place for a thousand of years.
He tried every stage. He shook his head.
He didn’t think he would gain much from this dungeon but he was proven wrong.
He gained a really good skill although he didn’t like the process of it. He had too many questions regarding Nyrax and his deals.
What does he mean he wants his favor?
Dante also wanted to know more about Aldryx, the lich. He talked about the kingdoms.
To him, that meant trouble in the future.
After the tutorial, Dante was certain that they would teleport to this kind of world. The world where a kingdom could be flattened.
He clenched his hands and frowned. He needed to get strong.
To do that he needed to advance to the next tier.
Tier 1 was the base line for everything. To have a core.
Tier 2 was the start of the path. To have connections with the core.
Tier 3 from what he read from the manual was the slowest process. To combine the body with the core.
To achieve that, your body must have the best possible connection with the core. After that state, just relied on luck to have the combined effect.
That was how the manual explained to him.
Tier1
Tier 2 - initial, middle, peak
Luck process.
Tier 3.
That was the progression he had to take.
He let out a sigh. He judged that his body was now at the middle of Tier 2. He would say he advanced fast but he has to abuse his mana core.
Dante picked up a small rock and threw it at Thomas. Thomas immediately sat up with a puzzled look.
He turned toward Dante and said. "What?"
"Let’s leave. I don’t want to stay anymore." Dante said.
Thomas rubbed his eyes and took a good look at the portal before standing up. He walked toward Dante, while staring at the air, probably checking his notification.
"I got 15000 points. Nice, I can buy really cool gauntlets." Thomas said.
"Don’t buy it yet. Buy after getting the dungeon’s rewards." Dante gave his advice.
Thomas nodded. "Okay."
Julius arrived and gave Dante two axes. Dante placed the axe on his waist.
He landed these two axes to Julius. He saw the third axe laying under the piles of rocks. He was too tired to move and decided to leave it inside this dungeon.
Their backpacks were also destroyed.
"Thanks." Dante said.
"No need. It is yours." Julius said.
Thomas clapped his hand and smiled. "I can’t wait for the rewards. Do you have any guesses?"
Dante and Julius looked at each other and shook their heads.
"I don’t know." Julius said.
"Maybe we will get something from Aldryx, after all this dungeon is designed for him." Dante said.
Thomas nodded and walked toward the portal. He waved without looking back.
"See ya on the other side." He walked into the portal.
Dante turned to Julius and said. "Rock paper scissors?"
"What are we? Kids?" Julius shrugged and immediately threw a fist.
"Rock paper scissors."
Dante also threw fist, he turned midway to the palm.
Julius laughed, pointing at Dante’s hand. "I win."
Dante let out a sigh and pointed at the portal. "You go first."
He watched as Julius disappeared. He turned around and looked at this place one last time and walked backwards.
His vision was enveloped by the portal.
This teleportation was different from Julius. Julius’s teleportation felt like jumping and going through the portal was calm and it was like taking on a stroll.
The world around him was made with color. Even with his all seeing eyes, he didn’t know what he was looking at.
Soon, the scenery around him stopped, he was standing in the middle of color. Dante looked around, it was like he was standing in a world of passionate painters.
He knew the system was working on something so he waited.
He was correct as a series of the system prompt appeared.
[Calculating rewards during the dungeon.]
[Acknowledging the influence of the unknown factor.]
[Choosing the rewards.]
[Overwriting the current system version.]

Dante felt something hot coming from his left hand. He looked down and noticed light coming from his finger.
He flipped his hand.
"Ouch."
The pain was bearable. After a few seconds, he got the feeling from his left hand. He looked down and saw a strange ring on his left index finger.
From what Dante saw, the ring seemed to be made from some sort of metal. It was dark but there were a few strings of white etched into the ring.
The ring head was the strangest one. Maybe because his bloodline was Sage, the ring head was a small book, opened in the middle.
He stared at the black ring and the system window appeared.
[Item - Ring of the book.]
[Item grade- unknown.]
[Effect - transformation. Mental.]
[Current state - Sealed but usable.]
[Description - The unknown gift by the Primordial spirit through space and time. You are the only one worthy of wearing because you are the sage.]
Dante read the system and looked at the black ring. He let out a soft smile and thanked something. He didn’t know what but he was feeling that this was something he should do.
He tried to take out the ring but it didn’t even budge.
He let go and checked the system again.
[Transfering everything into points.]
[You have earned 10000 points from the dungeon.]
Dante nodded and checked his points.
[34580 points.]
He smiled seeing the big balance, most of that came from the lich and this. With this kind of money, he could buy a few good things.
’The winter is coming. I hope the weather is not as harsh as it was on Earth.’
Dante shrugged when he thought about the cold.
Soon, the world around him started to move. He landed on the hard ground and immediately the cold wind assaulted his body.
He trembled instantly and hurriedly hugged himself.
He immediately opened the system shop and brought the clothes.
He immediately took out the old clothes and changed into the new ones. The clothes were similar to the ancient Chinese clothes. He always seemed online and wanted to try it.
He had been eyeing on this for a while. Of course, there were some runes engraved into these clothes.
Three runes in fact. One was the self repairing system. Just pour mana and the clothes will fix itself.
The second rune was a legendary level rune, cleaning rune. Dante couldn’t wait to try it out.
The third rune was an important one for him. Temperature regulating rune.
By adjusting the mana he released, the clothes will give him the desired temperature he wanted.
Dante immediately activated this rune and felt the warmth spread through his body.
