Chapter 35: Chapter 35 - unfamiliar group
Dante looked around the surroundings. He turned around and saw the dungeon entrance but there was no spark on it.
He glanced at his feet and noticed that he was standing on white snow.
The sky was white covered in clouds. Faint snow lightly showing the earth, painting white. The trees were frozen and his eyes revealed that a bunch of animals were hiding.
He saw a few rabbits hopping around.
"Where is the rest?" Dante searched his friends and didn’t find any.
"They must have left for the village." He muttered to himself and began walking.
He walked past the snowy path. There were two footprints on the path, slightly covered with snow.
"Hmm, judging from these footprints it seemed like there was a time dilation going on." Dante said.
As he continued to walk, he noticed strange marks on the tree. They were covered in snow but under his
eyes
he saw through them.
He frowned and activated his
External eyes of the
hunter
to the fullest, soaking in the information it provided.
He then restricted the eyes to 50 meters range and nodded. He then let out a smile as he saw people gathering inside their base.
He grabbed his axe and channeled mana. They were not hostile but too much preparation was better than none.
He saw the entrance of the village. Before they left Thomas closed off the village with giant walls.
He touched the earth wall and felt a trace of familiar mana.
"At least they were dropped by Thomas." He said.
As he continued to walk, he saw a few people hanging around the central area.
There were 5 people standing in the snow. They all carried weapons. Two long ranged weapons, bows and three swords.
Two women and three men. They were handsome and beautiful.
Their aura posed no threat to him or any of his friends.
He made a noise and waved his hands to the group.
"Hey." He called out.
One of the people in the group immediately drew out the sword and aimed at him.
The rest followed, they entered into a formation.
Dante calmly walked looking at them. He tilted his head. "What are you doing here? It is rude. I don’t mind staying in my place but threatening me is no good."
The woman in the middle lowered her bow and signalled the rest to follow.
"I am sorry for this." She said, "We are a bit cautious of this place."
Dante nodded and walked forward. He arrived in front of the group and observed them.
The leader seemed to like the woman who spoke to him earlier. She was beautiful, pale white, her cheeks seemed to red from the snow.
Her hair was black and long, tied neatly behind her, carefully. Her lips cracked.
The rest of them were also beautiful. They all seemed to be around his age, 23.
"My name is Dante." He introduced himself. "I have been staying at this place for 2 weeks? I don’t know. My concept of time was messed up."
"Hi, Dante. I am Shizuku." The girl greeted. "Here are my groups. Liora, she is our scout. The rest were our danger dealers."
The short haired man came forward and shook his hand. "I am Mike."
"Call me Bene." A tall man said, backing away.
’Doesn’t seem like a social creature.’ Dante thought.
He turned toward the remained member. The last man was short and seemed to be displese with the current situation.
"Hey, Darian. Don’t be so rude." Shizuku said.
"Whatever. I am Darian."
Dante nodded, not minding the unenergetic voice from Darian.
"So why are you guys here?" Dante asked.
"We met with your friends but they said they wanted to take a shower and left. They also said they will talked when you arrivd here." Shizuku explained.
"I see." Dante nodded. "Sorry for the rude welcome. They are now like that. Come it is cold out here."
Dante led the group of the biggest building. He suspected these kind of interaction when he first took the village. So he reserved the biggest building for this.
He opened the door and pointed at the living room. There were a table and a few chairs laying around.
"Make yourself at home. I am going to talk to my friend." Dante said and left the group.
He thought. ’Jukius is not the type to not welcome someone. Something must happened between them.’
He also picked a few trace of mana in the air. There seemed to be a quick battle happened.
Dante entered his place and heard the two friends, showering. ’So they stayed in my house.’
He let out a sigh and waited.
The first to come was Thomas. He wore only the towel and his body dripping with water.
"Yo, what took you so long? We wait for an hour." Thomas said.
"Really? To me not even a minute passed." Dante said. " I will take a shower as well."
Dante entered the shower and started cleaning himself. He rubbed every parts of his body. After he was done, he felt clean and light.
It was like something lossened up his joint.
After that he wore the same clothes and entered the downstairs. He saw Julius and Thomasz drinking a hot soup.
"Where do you guys have the time to make this?" He asked a bit puzzled by this.
"We brought it from the system shop. After conquering the dungeon, the system seemed to upgrade." Thomas said.
"What?" Dante said, immediately checking the shop. There was no change. "There is no thing like that."
"Check in the food session." Julius said.
"I don’t have none." Dante said.
"That is odd." Thomas said.
Dante let out a sigh and said. "Give me a soup as well."
Thomas nodded and tapped at the air. Instantly a bowl of soup appeared.
He took the bowl and started eating. "This is. This is quite good. But not better than mine. It lack passion."
Thomas shook his head. "Yeah. Yeah."
"So what with the cold shoulder?" Dante asked.
Thomas glanced at Julius.
Julius let out a sigh and explained.
"After waiting for an hour for your return, we don’t get any of we left. Along the way, we noticed a few marks on the tree. Before we arrived here, the arrows came flying." Julius said.
"If my sense are not sharp, that would pierce into Thmoas ’s legs and mine. I deflected the arrows with ease and Thomas fired a fire arrow."
Dante nodded, listening the recap.
"The attacks from the walls, they positioned carefully. After we find their location, there was not much. I quickly cleared them." Julius said.
"Their leader said sorry and we stopped." Thomas added.
"I see. I thought the situation was quite worse." Dante said.
Jukius shook his head. "The situation is not worse because we are strong. I don’t have a good first impression on them. Who attacks someone without saying a word. Talk about rude."
Dante smiled, nodding his head.
"So you left them in there."
Julius nodded. "I said we will talk after you arrived. So what is our plan to deal with them?"
Dante thought for a moment and shook his head.
"I don’t know. They looks like they want to talk about something. And they seemed to come from a bigger group."
"How do you know?" Thomas asked.
"They don’t seem to be impressed with this place. That meant they have their own place and the way Shizuku introduced her friend as scout gave this more depth." Dante explained.
"For now, let’s meet with them."
