Chapter 36

Chapter 36: Chapter 36 - The Union
They all sat on the big table. There was silence hanging in the air, waiting to break.
As Dante was going to speak, Shizuku took the lead.
She bowed down her head toward Julius and the rest.
"I am sorry for the rude encounter. We are a bit on edge." She said, "I don’t know if you are enemies or friends."
Julius rolled his eyes. "I suppose." He was not convinced with this kind of excuse.
Dante smiled. "Well. Well. The past is the past. Now, let’s start with this."
Shizuku nodded.
"Why are you guys here?" Dante asked.
Shizuku cleared her throat and said, " We are currently in charge of the scout. After mapping around this place, we found this place and decided to make it our camp. And Liora noticed the two coming in this direction."
Dante nodded. "You guys are from some kind of group right?"
"Yes." Mike spoke.
The rest were standing on the back clearly from the order of Shizuku.
Shizuku glanced at Mike with a fierce look. Mike backed down and lowered his head.
She let out a cough. "We are from the rebellion."
She passed and checked the three expressions.
Thomas let out a yawn, not caring about the reveal. Julius’s eyes widened and immediately went cold.
Dante on the other hand was taken back by that. Before the system magic stuff, Earth was controlled by one giant force called The union of Humans.
After the fourth World War, most of the continent was deformed and one man stood up and established the Union.
There was not much information regarding that period because the government blocked all kinds of information related to the war. But recently, there was a movement coming out in the open.
That was to break down the union.
They dug up the past and released many things on the internet. Dante was curious when he was a teenager and discovered an archive of NovelFire because of that.
And they exploded big. Dante didn’t have much thought about that. He was a bit happy to read many things during that time. Even newer novels appeared.
The group fighting the Union was called the rebellion. Yeah, they all didn’t have a good naming sense.
’Maybe the Union is just suppressing their information.’ Dante thought.
But there was no mistake that because of the rebellion, there was war happening.
Julius was affected by that war. Dante thought that Julius would likely hate these groups.
But as for Dante, he didn’t really have that many opinions. He thought after the earth was destroyed, there would be no such things.
Clearly, he underestimated the humans.
He let out a sigh and said. "So? What is that going to do with us?"
Shizuku nodded. "You all don’t seem to be in contact with the current factions inside this tutorial."
The three nodded.
"I will explain. After we teleported inside this tutorial, the system gave us a quest. Find a faction or create one." Shizuku said.
Dante frowned at the word " Quest." But he held back his question and quietly listened to her.
"Various things happened during the first week. After that, we encountered a castle and established a faction. Before I arrived here, I was a member of the rebellion." Shizuku said.
"I connected with my people and started expanding our groups. And we met with the Union people. They attacked us and immediately started a war."
Mike nodded.
"I see." Dante said. "I don’t understand how you all still want to establish the rebellion. The earth is gone. There is nothing left."
Shizuku nodded with a soft smile. "Truth. I know that. We all knew that. Before the Union started to attack us, our leader went to their base and asked them to halt the war. But they didn’t think like that."
"They immediately started talking about taking back their place and started consuming every faction with an iron fist."
"Are there any factions?" Dante asked, scratching his head.
"There are some small factions outside of the big two." Shizuku said. "But I don’t think they will remain."
Dante nodded. "And what do you want us to do?"
Shizuku looked at the three and said, "You guys are strong. Your over level must be over 50. We need your strength. Help us fight against the union."
"What?" Julius spoke out loud. "I am not going to fight for anything. I will only use my sword to protect those in need."
"It is ignorant." Mike spoke. "Do you know what the Union is doing?"
Julius frowned.
Dante lifted up his hand, stopping his friend. He then put on a smile and looked at Mike. "No. Tell me what they do?"
"On Earth, they.." Mike was about to explain.
But Dante stopped him. "I don’t want to know about that kind of stuff. They are in the past. You heard what I said right? The past is the past."
"But.."
"Mike. I will talk." Shizuku said.
"Currently, the Union didn’t do anything evil but their actions were wrong."
"Like what?" Dante asked.
"Forcing everyone to come under their reign."
Dante nodded. "I could see why that would tick off most people. But currently people need this kind of thing right? Not everyone can fight."
Shizuku nodded. "Yeah. That is the point. Not everyone can fight. But few people can protect them. But the Union didn’t want that kind of stuff. They attacked those who didn’t want to follow their rules."
Dante nodded. "That is a problem but I don’t want to join your group. I don’t think my friends want to join either. Right?"
He looked at Thomas and Julius.
"I don’t care about that kind of stuff." Thomas said.
"Me too but I will protect those in need." Julius answered.
Dante clapped his hands and smiled. "Here is our answer. We will not join your group. And you don’t need to worry about us joining the Union. We will maintain neutrality. But I want to see your base."
Shizuku didn’t say back. She thought for a moment and said. " I will contact my leader. I will come back in three days."
After that, the rebellion group left their village.
Dante watched them leave a few traces of magic around their village. He shook his head and ignored them.
He jumped down from the wall and landed on the ground. He slowly walked toward his building. Julius and Thomas were waiting.
He took the chair and sat down.
"So what are you guys going to do? I want to check out their base." Dante said.
"Why?" Thomas asked.
"Because it is interesting. And there is a world beyond this place. I want to see that. Also their powers are strange." Dante said.
Julius nodded. "Yeah. During the fight, their movements are so strange."
"I am most disgusted with their mana control." Thomas said. "They used mana in a lifeless manner. Julius was better than them."
"Hey. What’s wrong with my mana control?"
"Nothing. You are too stuck to your pathway." Thomas said.
"They also said we are over level 50." Dante added.
The two nodded.
"See. That is strange. We don’t have a level system. Clearly, the system is different from everyone. I want to see that."
"Alright. We will check them." Julius said. "But as soon as they act something I will strike back."
Dante nodded and smiled. "Obviously. I will not put anything at the risk of us."
