Everyone Wants Me Dead: The Villain Lord's Survival Diary-Chapter 36 – This sword, I have practiced for fifteen years

The duel that concerned the fate of Morninglight Town quickly became known to everyone in the town, and the players even helped clear a large enough area outside the town for it.
Both sides had gathered, and for safety's sake, they stood on the newly built town walls of Morninglight Town, gazing into the distance.
Two hundred meters away in the dueling ground, Ye Hao and Sylvie had already clashed fiercely.
Neither of them used any fancy moves; their battle aura was unleashed, skills fully amplified, and they were fighting for their lives from the start.
After experiencing multiple setbacks, Ye Hao had clearly matured and become much more composed. He didn't waste a single word, focusing all his attention on the fight.
There was no trace of underestimation in his eyes, only hatred and caution.
This couldn't help but make Sylvie look at this Chosen of Destiny with a bit more respect.
Indeed, to become the protagonist of destiny, few are truly useless.
However, just because Ye Hao didn't speak didn't mean Sylvie wouldn't. As a proper villain, how could he not say a few words to disturb the protagonist?
He had gradually immersed himself in his role.
Sylvie slashed open Ye Hao's longsword, took advantage of the opening to land a kick, and then used the gentlest voice and the most frivolous tone to deliver the most sarcastic trash talk to Ye Hao.
"Yo, why so silent today, kid?"
"Why are you baring your teeth, are they burning your mouth?"
"Why aren't you doing that electric hip dance like last time?"
"Didn't you have breakfast this morning with that little strength?"
Ye Hao's face turned crimson, unsure if it was from anger or the kick.
He didn't respond to Sylvie's taunts, quickly stabilized himself, crouched on one knee, accelerated, and instantly charged at Sylvie.
His longsword slashed at an odd angle, while his left hand darted out like a viper, holding a dagger.
The blade of the dagger was blackened, clearly poisoned.
"You sneaky bastard, poisoning the dagger, how could you think of that!"
Fing hell, could I be more devious than you?
Ye Hao cursed inwardly but remained silent on the surface, wielding a sword in one hand and a reverse-grip poisoned dagger in the other, his entire being like a whirlwind, fast as lightning, imposing.
The blade in his hand almost danced with afterimages, his whole body like a butterfly in graceful flight.
In the air, the "clang" of weapons clashing was incessant, pounding on the hearts of those on the city walls.
Blue and golden battle aura collided and exploded, the overflowing energy turning into a howling gale, shredding the surrounding vegetation to pieces with the two combatants at the center.
Sylvie seized an opening, spun and dodged the poisoned dagger, his greatsword dragged behind him with his right hand, seemingly unavoidable against Ye Hao's following longsword strike.
His expression turned solemn, and he shouted, "Rise for me!"
The heavy greatsword, initially dragged behind him, plowed through the ground under Sylvie's immense strength, sending dirt and rocks flying, followed by a skyward slash.
Ye Hao's pupils contracted, hurriedly pulling back, realizing that the Eaglehold Lord's sword was heavy and powerful, and taking a direct hit would be crippling if not fatal.
He couldn't understand why someone he had previously overpowered had become so fierce.
But now wasn't the time for reflection; after dodging Sylvie's upward slash, he unleashed an enhanced Crosslight Cleave.
The timing was perfect, and Ye Hao seemed to see the dawn of victory.
Facing the rapidly approaching Crosslight Cleave, a strong sense of crisis stabbed Sylvie's brain, his eyes almost bursting.
He knew that if he were hit by this powerful Crosslight Cleave, he would surely die, yet he still didn't activate his hero-grade armor to block Ye Hao's killing move.
External aids are ultimately just that—external.
Though a villain in this life, he had his pride.
"I've trained with the heavy sword for over ten years."
Sylvie took a deep breath, eyes slightly narrowed, the greatsword held in reverse behind him, a heavy and oppressive aura began to coalesce around him, reaching its peak at a certain moment.
Suddenly, he looked directly at the Crosslight Cleave, his spirit, energy, and focus concentrated in his right hand gripping the sword.
The greatsword moved with Sylvie's strength, along with the sword momentum that had reached its peak, like a mountain-shaking tsunami.
Everything happened in a flash, golden battle aura surged out with the sword momentum, and Sylvie vaguely saw the figure from when he was four, splitting a mountain with a single sword before him.
"Master..."
"Boom—"
Sylvie's greatsword cleaved down, shattering the Crosslight Cleave and breaking Ye Hao's heart.
As the dust settled.
In front of Sylvie, the ground bore a crack dozens of meters long, stretching across Ye Hao's feet, less than half a meter away.
Ye Hao stood with vacant, hollow eyes staring ahead, his hands still in the posture of executing the Crosslight Cleave.
Moments later, his body trembled, his legs no longer able to support him, and with a "thud," he knelt to the ground.
Only after the scythe of death brushed past did he realize how afraid of dying he truly was.
"I lost."
