The arena was silent as Mira and Reina stood across themselves. Two summoners, one noble and one commoner. Everyone knew this would be different.
Even though all the nobles wanted Mira to win m, Reina was an S-rank mage.
The barrier was already wrapped around their bodies, glowing faintly, then the announcer raised her hands.
"Begin!"
At once both of them girls lifted their hands.
Mira lifted her hand and four magic circles spun around her. In a burst of light, her summons appeared one by one.
First was the huge boar with tusks pawed the ground, steam rising from its nose as it snorted.
The hawk appeared next, crackling with faint lightning on it’s talons and flapping its wings preparing to take off.
Her latest summoning, the orange monkey appeared hitting its hands on the ground and creating a tiny rumble.
Finally, a tiny white dove fluttered on her shoulder and settled there, Mira definitely wasn’t talking any chances.
The crowd gasped at the sight, most of the Nobles knows how hard it is to control four summoning at once but Mira looked calm, her family was watching after all.
Reina smiled faintly staring at her four of her summons, hers were already by her side, she had just two summoning making it less amazing.
First was her strongest summon, a large black wolf with a single horn, the wolf growling, it’s eyes glowing red, the horned wolf was among the strongest of all wolves, and is able to evolve, with the strongest of them having three horns and an elemental ability.
But Reina’s wolf was still at one horn, but still considerably strong.
Next was a smaller wolf compared to the horned wolf, lean and fast, it stood beside the horned wolf, its teeth bared.
Reina had a third summon which was a hawk but it just like Roman’s, it wasn’t good at fighting and considering Mira’s hawk was that big.
The two sides stared at each other. The crowd waiting in their seats, the match had already begun but none of the girls had made a move yet.
The barrier which covered the girls also extended to their summons, meaning of the particular beast barrier is depleted, they have to cancel the spell or forfeit the match.
The girls were already told before now so they knew.
’This is going to be wild, let’s see who comes out on top’ Roman muttered as he watched closely.
"Go!" Mira shouted.
Her hawk was the first to take off flying high into the sky, but that wasn’t Reina’s focus as the boar was coming.
Her boar roared and charged forward, it’s tusks gleaming. The ground shook under its hooves as it dashed towards her.
Reina’s horned wolf met it head-on. The two beasts slammed into each other, the boars tusks grinding against the sharp black horn of the wolf.
The impact of both clashing was loud.
At the same time, Mira’s hawk screeched and dived, claws sparking with lightning. It slashed down at Reina’s smaller wolf, but the wolf rolled aside, dodging at the last second.
The hawk followed the wolf trying to strike it and now Reina was alone with nothing protecting her just like Mira wanted.
"Now!" Mira shouted.
Her monkey slammed its fists on the ground, and broken stones broke from the ground spinning in the air and immediately shot like spears toward Reina.
But Reina didn’t flinch as she placed one foot in front of other.
Her eyes glowed faintly, and suddenly, her body shifted in an instant. Her nails lengthened into sharp claws, her teeth into fangs, her feet also transformed slightly as she shared her wolf’s power.
In an instant, she dashed forward, faster than Mira had expected. She dodged the stones, weaving through them like the wind.
"Too slow!" Reina’s voice was bold as she moved closer.
Mira gasped as Reina closed the distance, her claws ready.
She swung once, and Mira barely raised her hand in time. Her monkey leapt, creating a quick wall of stone in front of her. Reina’s claws tore through it, shattering rocks into dust.
The monkey immediately repaired the damaged as it wrapped the stone wall around Mira.
The fight on all sides grew more serious.
The boar pushed with all its strength, driving the horned wolf back for a moment, but then the wolf backed away for a second using its claws which dig deep into the ground and shoved forward, overpowering it.
The boar squealed as the wolf’s claws cut a line across its shoulder, it only felt the pain but the injury wasn’t there because of the barrier and the boar could still continue.
Mira bit her lip hiding behind the barrier created by the monkey, She could feel Reina’s strength pressing down on her but couldn’t do anything.
Reina slashed again, her claws sparking as they ripped across the stone wall.
Cracks spread across, and Mira’s monkey struggled to reinforce it, pounding the ground again and again to keep the barrier standing. Dust filled the air, stones breaking apart under the pressure.
"Break!" Reina shouted, her eyes glowing brighter. She spun, her claws carving through the wall completely this time. The stones shattered, bursting into pieces that flew in every direction.
Mira stumbled back, eyes wide. The monkey roared, jumping in front of her again, slamming both fists into the earth. This time, sharp spikes shot up directly under Reina’s feet.
But Reina’s body blurred. Her wolf-like speed carried her sideways in an instant, dodging every spike with ease. She didn’t stop. She lunged forward again, closing the gap before Mira could even breathe.
At the same time, the smaller wolf leapt into the sky, slamming into the lightning hawk mid-flight.
