Chapter 185: Chapter 185 Mira vs Reina [Part 3]
The horned wolf growled louder, as Reina stood up from the ground, she still hadn’t recovered, but they were already surrounded, the hawk from above, and the monkey from the side.
The hawk’s talons sparked with electricity as it came down from above, slashing down at the wolf’s head, while the monkey hurled a massive boulder with both hands.
The horned wolf had no choice but to dodge the boulder coming straight at it, as it dodged the boulder successfully, the hawk came from above striking the wolf clean on it back.
*Bzzztt!*
The wolf fell to the ground paralyzed from the clean hit, the barrier around the wolf fading as it laid there, Reina was now on her feet as the hawk went back to air.
Her horned wolf was summoned back and Reina backed away as Mira’s monkey came to her side.
"Damn it..." Reina muttered under her breath, realizing the tables had turned.
The crowd was surprised at the sudden change, the clapping sounds was almost deafening as the noble families applauded for Mira.
"The match is almost over, I don’t think her new summon is going to save this one" Roman muttered.
"Reina is still going to win, I don’t think you know or understand the power of her new summon, soon you’re going to see the battle flip in an instant," Aurelia spoke.
’If Aurelia is this confident, I wonder what summon she has?’ Roman muttered in his head as he looked at Reina.
She was already on her last leg and if the summon wasn’t good enough to turn the tide, the match was going to be over in an instant.
The air shifted suddenly.
Reina stood tall again, though her breathing was rough. Her hand was on the ground, trembling slightly, but her eyes were sharp and she had a smirk on her face.
A magic circle spun open in front of her, larger than any she had shown before. The ground cracked as a heavy aura filled the arena.
The cheers slowed as the crowd felt it too. Something big was coming.
From the circle, a massive snake slithered out, its scales black like steel, glinting under the sun light. Its fangs were long, curved, dripping with a faint green liquid. Its tail cracked against the ground, leaving dents on the stone floor.
"Iron Fang..." someone in the crowd whispered.
It was one of the most dangerous snake species in existence, feared even by powerful mages, and rare among summoners. Reina’s iron fang wasn’t fully evolved so it was still little compared to the fully evolved one, but even in this stage, it was terrifying.
Mira’s eyes widened, and for the first time, her confidence wavered, she had thought the match was over, even though she knew Reina had a new summon, she wasn’t worried as she was still in control with two summoning.
Also the barrier around both of her summoning was still fully intact with little to no hit touching them.
The snake hissed, sound sharp like metal grinding in it’s mouth, it was one of the reasons the snake was named iron fang. Its yellow eyes locked on the hawk and monkey.
Reina who summoned the creature was on the ground, Mana was shared between both but she was already low on Mana so the snake was using what was left.
Before Mira could command her summons, the Iron Fang struck.
*Whsssh!*
Its body whipped forward faster than a whip, it’s tail crashed into the hawk mid-flight. The bird screeched as it was slammed down, its barrier shattered instantly.
Mira did even realize what had happened still the hawk was on the ground, she had to release the spell and the hawk disappeared.
The monkey roared forming a barrier around Mira first before hurling stone after stone, trying to fight back.
The snake’s scales rang out like iron when the rocks hit, barely leaving a mark. It lunged forward, mouth wide, fangs gleaning under the sun.
The monkey tried to escape upward, but the snake coiled around it in a blink. With a crushing squeeze, the orange summon screamed before its barrier broke, shattering into sparks. The monkey vanished as the spell was released.
"No way..." Mira gasped.
In just moments, both of her summons were gone leaving her, she raised both of her hands up, lightning cracked around them as she moved away from the stone barrier as it was useless.
The Iron Fang hissed again, its huge body twisting as it turned its gaze toward Mira herself. Reina, barely standing, pointed at Mira and whispered one word.
"End it."
The snake’s tail moved like a blur.
*Boooom!*
It slammed into Mira’s chest before she could react. Her stone shield cracked, then shattered completely. The impact sent her flying across the arena. She hit the ground near the edge of the barrier, rolling, dust flying up around her small body.
Silence filled the arena for a heartbeat.
Mira lay still. Unconscious.
The crowd erupted in shock. Only few of the nobles cheered loudly, while others gasped, unable to believe what they had just seen.
Reina fell to her knees, exhausted, sweat dripping down her face. Summoning the Iron Fang had taken nearly all of her Mana. But her lips curled faintly.
"I’m not going to lose here"
The announcer raised her voice, almost shouting over the crowd.
"The winner of the match Reina"
The nobles applauded, but many eyes were still on Mira, who had fought with everything she had and still lost, she was outclassed at the end of the match by the power of an S-rank.
Roman chuckled, his lips curling into a smile. "What the hell did Reina acquire, this is definitely going to change the tide of everything"
Beside him, Aurelia smiled faintly, her words sharp. "I told you. Reina’s new summon is not something anyone can underestimate."
The snake vanished after a while and Reina fell to the ground breathing heavily, sweat covered her face but a smile remained on her face.
