Transcending Realms With My Leveling System As A Demon-Chapter 53: First Magical Beast

Chapter 53

Chapter 53: First Magical Beast
Noctis Brava was a pretty tall man, the same height as Zylus, to be exact. He held his smile high, never once seeming afraid or saddened. Noctis had yellow, clear eyes like the sun that was non-existent above, and black hair that covered his forehead.
"Hate this academy uniform," Noctis said, walking just in behind Zylus, Eldra, and Fred.
"Yeah, same here," Zylus said.
The night was still cold and dark, and the forest now stretched even wider as they continued walking through the large oak trees. So far, they spotted absolutely nothing, no magical creatures, and no enhanced beasts.
"Everyone, be prepared to use your technique at any time." Zylus calmly declared, "We don’t know when something will appear-"
And just then, they heard the bushes all around them shake.
"What’s that?" Eldra frantically whispered.
Fred backed off, behind Zylus, nervous.
"I don’t know, but get ready," Zylus told Eldra, readying himself in an unorthodox fighting position.
"Relax," Noctis said, though even his grip tightened.
And then, they heard a loud growl to the right of them.
"Grrrrr!"
Undoubtedly, it was a bear. Sounded like him, and the distinct aura Zylus felt coming from it just proved one of his thoughts, that this wasn’t just any bear, it was what Mr. Cruz called, a ’Magical beast.’
Slam!
The creature appeared just in front, jumping from the covered-up bushes onto the small open grassland path they were walking on.
"So this is it," Zylus smirked, "Let’s get ready then."
"Ahh!" Fred got slightly nervous, stepping a few feet back.
Crick!
The entire group looked back, but it was just Fred’s clumsiness, falling on a random tree branch placed on the floor.
"Sorry," Fred said apologetically.
"Grrr!" The magical beast let out a threatening growl.
It looked just like how any black bear would normally look, with some polished enhancements.
Its body grotesquely enlarged, nearly ten meters taller than any natural bear should be. Of course, above all else, there were those glowing white eyes that pierced danger through everyone’s skin.
"Calm down, guys," Zylus paused, "Prepare your techniques."
Each of them staggered, then gained confidence by Zylus’s words,
"Elemental Affinity: Activate..." Eldra shifted her hands, aiming at the bear, "Technique: Strands of Grass, order one, rapid strands."
"Elemental Affinity: Activate!..." Zylus joined in, moving himself forward, "Technique: Bloodloss, order one, piercing blood."
"Elemental Affinity: Activate!..." Noctis joined in on the fun, "Technique: Enhance, order one, strength." Just then, his muscle weight increased, noticeably so, not just that, but also his height.
Fred couldn’t use his ability because he wasn’t in a state that would frantically allow him to produce it.
The bear just then started charging in, rapidly making large thumps on the pathway.
Noctis stepped up, trying to hold on to the bear, "I got this." He struggled, but holding it back wasn’t enough.
The creature continued to go force for force with its head against Noctis’s hands, but as Noctis moved back, the ground below carved a deeper path.
"I can’t do this for much longer!" He yelled out, and the magical beast growled.
"That’s no worries," Eldra whispered, as she cast her spell, "This should do."
And then, the same green colored shards that once attacked Zylus now threatened the bear’s life.
Thick!
All of them, every single one of Eldra’s attacks bounced off the magical creature’s rusted skin.
"Grrr," It screamed out in hunger once more, continuously pushing Noctis back.
"Fucking hell," Zylus whispered, doubt left him defenseless, "Forgot that I can only use this technique if I’m injured."
"But last time it worked prior to you being injured," Eldra added. She had hoped Zylus would figure something out.
The last time Eldra witnessed it firsthand was during their duel. Back then, Zylus subconsciously got himself injured, allowing him to adapt using Blood Oath.
"Eh," Zylus hesitated, "The truth is," he tried to make it sound as easy to digest as possible for Eldra, "I don’t know how the fuck I did that." Zylus nervously smiled, and a sweat droplet ran across his face.
Boom!
Zylus’s techniques have a restricted requirement. This includes:
[Elemental Affinity: Blood Oath]
[Available Techniques Are Below] → [Orders Displayed As Well]
[Usable Technique: BloodLoss]
[Usable Order: 1 & 2]
[Order 1: Piercing Blood]
[Description: Accumulate from a future predicted attack that will deal less than 10% bloodloss towards the User, which then allows the user to use that lost blood against his opponent]
[Restriction: If it surpasses that blood count, the use of that ability will not succeed]
[Limit: 2 Uses]
[Unable To Use!
Surpasses 10% BloodLoss
!]
The mythical beast dragged Noctis back into the forest, throwing him down on the hard grass terrain.
"Ahhhh!" Noctis let out a painful scream as the creature left him and now focused his gaze intently on Zylus and Eldra.
It roared again, beginning to chase them both.
"Hey Eldra." Zylus smiled, "Run."
She nodded, both of them turning to start and run until they noticed something.
"Hey, Eldra," Zylus said as he ran.
"What’s up?!" She had to yell because of the air permeating their voice as they sprinted.
"Where’s Fred...?" Zylus asked worryingly.
Eldra looked around, "I don’t know, but for now, let’s focus on our survival!"
"Elemental Affinity: Activate." A whisper came from just behind Zylus and Eldra. "Technique: Adrenaline Surge: Order One, instinct."
Cling!
They heard a large shattering sound from behind, and Zylus curiously looked back.
"No, it couldn’t be..." Zylus stopped moving. Eldra didn’t.
"Since when did he get so strong?"
Eldra then also paused, shifting her body in a position where she can see what’s stopping Zylus.
The individual who had just engaged in battle with the magical beast was none other than the brother hated by his own blood...
Fred Foreless.
And he was here to rid the current issue by taking down this magical anomaly.
"Never seen a bear as fat as you." Fred spat onto the beast’s face, "Ugly bastard."
Fred Foreless wasn’t the shy guy he once was. After enabling his technique through panic, he becomes just as powerful as Zylus with his Demonic Weapon activated...
Maybe even stronger...
